Who am I?
In 1996, I received a Ph.D in Comparative Literature from Harvard. I have two theories about how I received this degree: Either it was because I wrote a dissertation about the “flaneur” (a solitary walker in developing cities) in the modernist period OR it was because the department facilities were getting crowded (smile).
I’ve taught many different kinds of writing and history but, for the last 14 years, I’ve been teaching business writing at the University of Maryland at College Park. I teach in person and in “blended classes” which are half online and half in person. My most recent teaching there has included the curriculum development of fully online classes.
