This bright maxi coat, red with a hint of orange, is Kashmiracle, a vintage 1960s trademarked faux cashmere: "Looks like cashmere-Feels like cashmere" the label reads. It is soft, light in weight, yet warm and cosy, and has a lovely, short-pile texture. The fabric and coat are from Wellington Fashions.
This coat would be a standout and functional piece in a current winter wardrobe. It mixes and matches well with casual and formal wear. I love it with jeans, boots and a tunic or camisole. It is a great vintage piece.
The coat is long, with an A-line cut from shoulder to hem. It is a quality piece with excellent tailoring and details, including the asymmetrical closure, with the three original red buttons; three smaller ones also adorn each cuff; and two fabric covered snaps inside the coat hold the neckline and front placket in place. The collar is round and stands up. A hidden seam pocket is at each side, and the coat comes with a matching tie belt. The sleeves are full-length.
This coat is in excellent vintage condition, with few signs of wear and no stains or damage. It has been well cared for and is clean. It has two labels: The Kashmiracle trademark and care label and the Union Made ILGWU one. It is fully lined in a smooth red satin.
The size is unmarked, but it will fit a range because of the A-line style. It is a small-medium, or current size 4-10, depending on specific measurements.
